Projects:
A partnership school can instigate a project by directly approaching the CLC with a suggestion. If considered appropriate the project will then be refined and an action plan created. If you would like to undertake a project with the CLC please contact John Birks or Catherine Elliott.
Working with pupils:
Much of the CLC's activity involves working directly with pupils from partnership schools. Sometimes this work will be in school and at other times it will be at the CLC, whichever is the most appropriate for the given activity. For an idea of the kind of activities we can offer click here. For a list of suggested primary activities, with links to the Literacy Framework, click here.
Working with teachers:
The CLC will often work directly with teachers to help improve their ICT skills. Sometimes this will be achieved through formal training courses or on other occasions in tandem with sessions delivered to groups of pupils.
Outside the partnership:
When appropriate and if there is spare capacity the CLC may work with schools and other organisations that are outside the established partnership. This will only take place if there is no cost to the partnership and ideally results in an outcome that is directly or indirectly of benefit to CLC partnership schools.
Equipment:
The CLC makes every effort to be equipped with the latest technology, some of which is fixed within the CLC building but increasingly much of it is portable and can be used around the partnership. Although the CLC is not allowed to give equipment to its partnership schools it is at liberty to provide loans in conjunction with prearranged projects.
Community: We offer a number of courses, such as the European Computer Driving Licence and NOCN, to adult learners. For information about these visit the Courses page. |
